  • Hi Michael,
I was reading your views on REO listings and agents and I wanted to say I couldn't agree more! Back a few years ago, I was laughed at for selling REO and spending time on money on getting new clients in the "nasty" foreclosure market. It has been my sole focus of business way before it was the cool thing to do and it frustrates me when agents who wouldn't give me the time of day even a year ago want to know all my "secrets" now. I tell them my "secret" every time... Hard work.
  • Michael,
I am a new comer to the REO business and would like some help launching into this industry. Do you have any material I could purchase for I am too far away to attend any seminars you would hold.
    Thanks
    Carina
  • Mr. Shannon,

I read your post(s)/responses and certainly admire your hard work and determination. You stated that " I published the names and websites to over 300 banks and outsourcers on several of my REO Agent blogs, and I published the names of who you need to contact to help out other agents trying to get into the business". I am curious to know where I can locate these names of individuals to contact to get into the business of REOs. I have signed up with over 200 asset management companies and do a number of BPOs. I have been unable to "break through" as some of my colleagues have.

Please share your wealth of information as I wouldn't truly appreciate it sincerely. I am located in the Washington DC Metropolitan area and won't be any type of competition to you or your team what so ever.

Please help out another dedicated, extremely hard working Realtor who just needs a bit of luck at this point. Thanks in advance for any information and references you might be able to provide.

    Bruno
  • I agree there is to much sitting around and not enough work done by to many agents. I can see the FDIC coming in with a Master Plan for Listings. I have a feeling that if you get a Toxic Asset in the future you will have to use their protocal to sell it.

I have got some of this information from a contact that is buying FDIC assets from failed banks.

If your on Linked in I have a great blog for you to read. The discussions are one level above retail and could give you some insight.

Michigan Rocks... I was born in Michigan.
    Good Luck
  • I really enjoyed your recent reply to my blog, "Why does 1 agent get all the listings". I hear a lot of agents saying, give me, give me, give me but, I don't find many that engineer thier success as you outlined.

The good agents will be successful
  • My name is Mike Shannon, and I am the Team Leader for the Shannon Team, one of Metro Detroit's premiere REO Sales Teams. We average almost 300 REO transactions each year. My team is made up of 10 individuals, and almost all have 10 years of real estate experience.
  • Hi Michael Shannon:

This site is dedicated to the Realtors who work with Lenders, Banks and Asset Managers in assisting them with the liquidation of their real estate portfolio holdings.

We are a Network of Professionals spread across the country and have come together online to network and provide support through our accumulated knowledge and experience. This support could be anything from providing information on ways to obtain industry recognized designations, to the contact information of the Asset Managers who can make or break us. The power of our network will be determined by those who participate openly and freely.

I really would like this to be a place where we as Listing Agents can share information without constraint with one another in the pursuit to help each other in the advancement of our shared profession.

Feel free to customize your “my page”, start your blog, add events, post photos, share videos and invite people to any of the new groups formed here by REOPRO. I believe with your help, this network can have a positive impact on the lives and professional development of all who are members.

If you have any other suggestion, feel free to send them my way, I will truly consider them, the door is always open and welcome to REOPRO.
