Who’s Going to Five Star?

Hey, who’s going to Five Star? I responded to a post about a month ago that I thought I’d share with you if you’re going.

The Post:I will be attending the 5 Star conference this year in hopes to further the REO business for my company. Can anyone that has attended this in the past give me any pointers. My Reply:Just remember...when you go, you are there to get information - you are on a fact finding expedition. Collect more cards than you pass out; don't take brochures and the like. Remember, most of the AMs there are from out of the area. They are not going to pay extra to add your brochure to their luggage weight. Guess where your brochure is going? Correct! So you can see how important it is to collect their contact information instead, so that when you get back home, you can solicit them. Any thing you do hand out, be sure it has your phone number and email address on it. Additionally, once back home be on the look out for an excel spreadsheet that will come via email and include the contact information of each and every attendee of the conference.Hope this helps. Good Luck!

  • The conference is for networking and gathering new ideas on how to streamline your business. Come in two days early and go visit your clients, that's where you take the brochures. Actually, the AM's and Valuation people want your coverage area info and local market stats. make the appoints far in advance with the Vendor Managers and you can almost always get in for 30 minutes or so. NO GIFTS!! I just got back from Denver and had a very productive time meeting clients on site, and I gave them brochures, desk calendars, coverage are maps, zip code info and market stats. Met with valuation departments, pre-marketers, asset managers, vendor managers and the directors of reo. Oh, and the conference was nice too...
  • BTW, I am really taking time to go thru your site and I love your concept. I like the openess and willingness of the Agents here to share resources, information and knowledge. I'm not going to Five Star this year, but I honestly feel that by the time some of these agents get back and share their experiences, I will feel as if I did :-)
  • Last year was an absolute mad house. I think the response even surprised Five Star. I'm sure this year they will be better prepared for the turn out.
  • I haven't decided yet, not because i don't like Five Star but, because I don't know that I can get away. I am going to try and see what happens. First I got to get through this next week and then things may get more clearer.
