Agent says No Thank You to REOPro Lead.

No joke, I was actually told, “no thank you” by a Agent who I offered a lead to.

So, here is what happened.

As many of you know, I have been looking for some agents to work some leads we got in from our investor.

These leads are as hot as they come. Basically a buyer / seller searching online comes across the investor website and ask to be referred to a local agent who will provide them a FREE CMA on a home they want to buy or sell. REOPro then turns around, and distributes the lead, manages the lead and helps it get to closing. We don’t get paid otherwise.

Well, we had no one in RealtyPilot (the REOPro platform) that worked this zip code so I searched the REOPro.NING sit. I found an agent, called him up, offered him the lead and he actually said that he was tired of paying for things he would never use and declined to take the lead.

Just so you know, the lead wrote in the comments section of her application for assistance, “I want to list and sell my home

Now, here is what chaps my cheeks. To get the lead, all he will be out is the $30.00 a month from RealtyPilot…that’s it. In fact, once he is done working the lead, he can cancel his subscription, it’s not like RealtyPilot has long term contract but, he was so oblivious to who I was, to who REOPro was, to who RealtyPilot was, to the nature of the REOPro / RealtyPilot alliance, he complete lost a great opportunity.

Now, here I am, with a lead….a seller, which is as hot as they come and no one from my network to work the lead. Now I have to go to REORedbook, search through the database and hopefully get myself a agent for a handout!

Honestly, I should have known better to call this guy. He had zero blogs, zero forums, zero comments and his profile didn’t even have his website, phone number or contact information.

Why is it, I have to go and find agents when I have leads to give out? Don’t tell me it’s because you have to pay for the technology platform. If its that much of a cost for you, cancel when you don’t want to use it. This way, you’re only out the $30.00 a month when you actually have a lead to work however, understand…….I am not going to go out looking for you each time I have a lead, I provide those people in RealtyPilot the first opportunity.

  • Jesse... Guarantee this will not happen should you have something in Florida marked for me !!! Keep up the great job with this site. It is AWESOME !!!
  • Jesse, Nonsense. Who's a bigger Rock star than you? You know how it works, these people sign up for anything and anything that says REO. I was thinking a while back that you should have some criteria for being able to join. Perhaps proof of some cert such as NCST or RDCPro… Just a thought.
  • Hey Jesse, sorry this happened to you. If I can be of help in the Myrtle Beach SC area please let me know. I will be joining RealtyPilot as soon as I see some production in the SC (Horry County) area.
Keep on doing the great job you do!!!! And thanks for going that extra few steps. Even if he didn't appreciate it doesn't mean that the rest of us don't appreciate you knowing that you take that extra time because that is what makes this site/forum great!! So just keep doing what you do best!!! We appreciate you!
  • Hey Michael,

I get it, I really do and like I mentioned before, this agent hadn't contributed a single thing to this network so, he didn't know who I was or what I was doing so, I get it but, how can someone be a member of this network and not contribute to it or at least read it and learn what it is all about?

Oh well, I guess I and this network isn't as much as a rock star as I thought it was....ROFLMAO
  • Hate to be a contrarian Jesse but these days it is difficult for an agent, especially a struggling agent to discern from the legitimate business opportunity and someone just trying to squeeze another dollar from a desperate realtor. We all get unsolicited emails, calls and letters promising leads and opportunities for just a veeeerry small amount of money. Many on this site have been burned by similar vultures out there.
This is no way is intended to intimate that the lead you were offering is anything but a great opportunity. What I am saying is that perhaps we all can sympathize as many of you out there have burned by similar sounding "opportunities". My Billing person is still trying to get us paid from servicers we did bpo's for 3 years ago and still have never been compensated.
  • Its all about mindset. Either you have it or you don't!
  • What is realty pilot?
  • Welll....Jesse ...welcome to my world.....out of who knows how many phone calls and emails I am sending I might get one maybe....
  • Rochelle, you bring up a very valid point and you're right, I have no right to assume people know me....it's a bit arrogant however, this guy was a member for REOPro for over a year! So, like I said in the post, I should have known better when I saw he has never contributed to this network. No blogs, no forums, no nothing.

I was simply going out of my way to find him because he is a member and regardless if he contributes or not, I feel obligated because he is a member of this network.

I guess I feel that if you have been a member for over a year and you don't know that if I call.....you might want to answer, well......it is what it is.

For me, its just frustrating that we have 4000 (+) members and here I am with a lead to give away and on one to take it.
  • I had never heard of REO Pro until I came across it accidentally. I just signed up and was accepted. If I got a call from Jesse or someone else from here, I would have no idea what he was talking about. I'm so used to telemarketers trying to sell me territories that that's what I think of first. I still have no idea what RealtyPilot is because I've barely begun to look over this site. Go give the guy the benefit of the doubt, because not everyone (including me) is tech-savy or knows all the professional sites. I've been full-time in real estate since 2001, BPOs since 2003 and REOs since 2007, and I'm still finding out that there's more to this than I ever imagined!
