TOP BPO COMPANIES FOR 2021

Each year, I like to take a few minutes to share some free info and insights into my “Top 15 BPO Companies for 2021.”

After being in this hidden, niche market within real estate called, Broker Price Opinions and also with having been in the BPO industry myself for 15+ years, I’ve seen so much change, clean up and improvements.

Overall, it’s been exciting to see how much this niche industry within real estate has come and I know that it will continue to evolve. I’m just blessed to be able to still be a part of it!

So, without further ado, here is my list of the only 15 BPO Companies that a BPO/REO Pro should worry about working with to do strictly fee-based BPO orders. Please note, these companies are listed and ranked by my favorite companies from top to bottom.

  • Which ones are exiting the BPO market?
    1. Old Republic
    2. ?
    3. ?
  • Which ones do NOT shotgun orders?
    1. Asset Valuation and Marketing
    2. ?
    3. ?
  • Most of these companies are on my Not Loyal list except for Asset Val. When BPO companies started to shotgun orders so that you needed to be glued to your computer to catch them, that was disloyal. When they then outlawed auto acceptor software, that was unfair. When they disregard their decree about auto acceptors, that is deceptive. When they essentially push you into having to hire assistants, and increase your costs, to sit on the computer to catch the BPOs, that is inconsiderate. Declining fees and stagnant fees was disloyal and greedy.
  • I am not sure how Nicole ranks these companies by but for me I rank them by how much they pay us for the work and how fast. After more than 15 years of doing BPO when there were no standards to complete BPO, I can say that we, the realtor/real estate agent should be paid what we are worth. My favorite two BPO companies are: AssetVal who pay $50 for exterior BPO and $75 for inter BPO. The second company is ClearCapital who pays me similarly to AssetVal. My fee for exterior fee is $50 and $75 for interior on properties less than 20 miles after that, my fees go up to $60/$85. How can you feed your family for $35 exterior and $55 for interior? That's just my fees and my personal opinion. Thank you. Paul
    • Thanks for the comment Paul! The companies are listed and ranked by my favorite companies from top to bottom. I also wanted to let you and others know that there IS a standard way to complete BPO's, it's called NABPOP's BPOSG (BPO Standards and Guidelines). Most of the BPO Mills have adopted this as the standard way and expectations for doing BPO orders. Here's a link for more info: http://bpo-university.com/bposg.html

Also, since I got started doing BPO's in 2006, the fees have been driven down over the years sadly. That why it's good to have systems in place like automation so you can turn a profit and stay in the business without burning out. I hope my comments help!

  • Great list, I agree with all and would like to add these as well, in no particular order;

    LRES
    Asset Valuation
    Summit Valuation
    First American
    • Thanks Kristine for your comment also. I didn't add LRES, Summit or First American because they are predominantly know as being either an REO company or a portal for REO/BPO orders, not strictly a BPO company. I can't help but point out that Asset Valuation was on my list, I think it was over looked. They are a great company but have little volume compared to the top 5: Clear Capital, Pro Teck, ServiceLink, Xome Valuations and Assurant (fka eMortgage).
