As blogged by Peter Christensen on Sunday December 8, 2013, a class action lawsuit was filed against BrokerPriceOpinoin.com and First Valuation LLC, First Valuation Services LLC and First Valuation Technology LLC for not having "true corporate separateness in their operation". Firms taking place in this suit are from Florida, Washington and Colorado  however, they were not named specifically.

The plaintiff is a real estate agent, Kathy Wornicki from Florida. She claims that she is owed about $880.00 for BPO work she performed in 2012 and 2013. Apparently she claims that the defendants breached their contract by not paying her on time. She is going further and claiming that not only have the plaintiffs not paid her but thousands of other agents across the country.

  • They still owe me $750 for the end of last year and the beginning of this year.  Have been turning down their requests since then, and they keep saying that they will have their accounting department pay me, but that is just garbage.  The accounting department hasn't even responded to me since mid-February, when they said they had scheduled payment to me but were waiting on receipts so that they could actually pay.  Still no receipts?  Talk about lying.

  • I will be contacting the attorneys to inquire about the lawsuit. I am owed 1280 from Broker Price Opinion and all I have gotten is the run around. It amazes me that they still call and email me asking if I will take additional orders.

  • December 12 will be 1 year  since I prepared a BPO for vacant land, still no payment. February  2, 2013 still unpaid for photos only taken  and submitted for a property. Have turned down all other requests from Broker Price Opinion.

Unity owes me for 1 since 7/3/13 and USA Valuations owes for 1 since 5/9/2013. So, watch out for them.

  • Yep, it's about time. I did a couple bpos for them years ago and when they paid me the check bounced and after many collection attempts they've yet to make good on that check. Not to mention the other bpos I've done for them that I never got paid. Funny thing is, they still call me and email me from time to time requesting my services for bpos and I always tell the lady calling or respond to the emails that I'll do the bpo once you pay me for the bad check and unpaid services & of course she always acts shocked and refers me to a number or name.

  • I was never paid by them either

  • This is great she is taking them on, and hopefully all the other hundreds of BPO mills will take notice, and pay promptly.  We usually bust our rumps to finish bpo's on time, and then wait tooo long for payments.

  • That's "for" not four. It took me about a year to get paid. :)
  • GREAT! I've thought broker price opinion.com should be sued for years. I did over $1000 worth of BPO's for them and had to fight four months to get paid. I finally got paid when I filed a complaint with the better business bureau.
  • Good for her!!!  They owe me $440.

  • Good for her! I personally have never had a problem getting paid but I hear alot of agents complain about this
