Brokerpriceopinion.com, a First Valuation Company

Did 2 rush BPO's for this Company in the most dangerous area in South Florida and haven't been paid.  It's been almost a year for the first BPO and it's been  8 months for the other. Anyone else have that problem with this Company (Brokerpriceopinion.com, a First Valuation Company)?? They keep blaming it on accounting.  Anyone have any suggestions other than not doing anymore BPO'S for them (which I did stop after 2nd BPO)??

Thank You for your input,

Kevin Novack

  • I have been in the BPO business for almost 9 years now.  I recently moved to Colorado and started working for Broker Price Opinion as I knew them to be previously, now firstvaluation.  They have been giving me the run around for months, promising me payment, setting up plans and changing them. This is over work I completed for them back in October, November and December of 2015!  They owe me a lot of money and still call me like a telemarketing company despite my pleas to stop bothering me until I get paid in full.  The problem is with the Credit Unions in Colorado who are using this company and paying 4 to 5 times more than what we get paid for our service and work we provide.  Walt Coats runs a telemarketing scam and the best way to get the word out is to get the name of the Credit Unions using them and let them know there are better options out there, BPO companies who actually pay on time and the fees which our professional services deserve.  Colorado consumers are being ripped off and agents are being ripped off by this company! I not only plan to file a complaint with the BBB but also with the Attorneys General of Colorado and you can also complain to the District Attorney of the district they are doing business (District 1). Lastly, I would think the Colorado Commission of Real Estate should be informed.  The principles that run the company are not licensed brokers or agents in this state or any other that I can find.  They are a local Colorado company, located in Westminster, Colorado.  Hope this post helps other agents take action or at the very least get paid!

  • After 36 years in this business you think I would know better!  When I was contacted by them back in July 2015 I did Google them and saw all the negitive posts about them but thought I would give them a try because they were being so nice.  After a couple of BPO's they flooded me with 20 one week!  AGAIN, I KNOW BETTER!  Needless to say I stopped taking the orders in September of 2015 and though they continued to ask me to do BPO's I told them I would not until I got paid the $2,000+- That they owed me. They said I was scheduled to be paid on 12-15-2015, On 12-20-2015 after asking about my check they informed me it would be 1-15-2016, on 1-20-2016....You get the idea!  As of Today 3-22-2016 I have not been paid, they keep saying its scheduled and about 4-5 times a week they ask me to do a BPO.  I am in the 4th Largest MSA in the USA and plan on getting the word out about them so that NOBODY in Houston has to go thru this with these folks, Suggest you do the same.

  • I can't believe it. I got a check from BrokerPriceOpinion.com today. It almost floored me. It only took almost 4 years to get paid $160. I'm almost tempted to just frame it instead of cashing it. Worried the check might bounce if I try to cash it. But I can say that I finally got a check after all these years.
Now on to Valuation Vision. They still owe me for 2 BPO's.

  • I called the FBI.  We receive these orders via the internet (internet fraud), if everyone files a complaint at http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx (FBI internet complaint center) maybe we can get them closed down. That place really upsets me that people are owed so much money,  I'm only out $150, but I'm sure it's got to be millions throughout the country. Remember, some of these orders are from Banks that could be potentially using Tarp funds to pay them.

  • I had to send a letter to Mr. Coats home address in 2011 and once we got fully reimbursed no further work for them. Surprisingly he actually called me to respond to the letter but I doubt that has occurred since then to anyone else.

  • Ever since I was burned by BPO.com aka A First Valuation Company, I have always Googled and come to the threads on this site to find out if a company was legit or not before I waste my time, gas or money on some site in exchange for assets. Doing this has saved me a fortune over the past few years! I currently have an open case with the Denver BBB and BPO.com keeps claiming my check is in an upcoming print batch that never arrives. They then keep making excuses on the BBB resolution form. I did finally receive almost $200 of the almost $2000 that they owe me about 6 months ago. Don't hold your breath for payment from them. My outstanding invoices go back to 2012!

  • Last Saturday, March 12th, I sent an email to Sarah to re-confirm that my check as she had promised has been processed on March 11th, is already in the mail.  On Tuesday, I re-sent another follow-up email since she did not respond and finally I got a email back on Wednesday afternoon.  She informed me that it will be processed next Friday which is Good Friday.  I was so mad and left her a voice mail message stating that this is not acceptable.  If I don't receive the check by April 2, I will then file a formal complaint with the Colorado State Attorney General's office.  I also emailed her back with the same message and not heard from her yet.  I then googled who the executives are for First Valuation/Broker Price Opinion and I got the following names:  Jordan Wilde, Walt Coats, Brandy May and Beau Merrifield.  I am sending these executives an email by next Monday if I still don't hear back from Sarah.  It is not all about the money.  I just hate it when companies like this are treating us like dirt.  Their business is to provide property valuation to their clients and they depend on us to provide them the product that they need to survive.  We don't work for free and we need to be respected as professionals.  I encourage all of you to file an online complaint with the Colorado State Attorney General, as well as the better Business Bureau and also email all the executives.  Their email address is their full name, separated by a period @firstvaluation.com.  Let us fight for our dignity and also prevent business like this continue to take advantage of us.

  • I'm new to this site, been doing BPO's since 2008. I was also a victim of brokerpriceopinion.com, I completed a handful of BPO's for them about 3 years ago when after 90 days of no payment caught on, called them several times with no action just empty promises, I live in Denver, their office, according to their website is about 30 minute drive from my home/office.  I've totally given up on them, but maybe I should pay them a visit, I doubt it will help.  I'm totally shocked their still in business.  I would love to help close this company down so they will stop ripping off agents!!

  • That is so strange, two years ago when they told me they were closing up, the person at accounting

s name was Sarah. She said they were closing the company and could give me a partial payment which was actually only half. So basically they lied.... oh well never again.

  • I was told by Sarah that I am scheduled for payment on 3/11/2016.  I will let everyone know if I don't get a check by then.
