This photo was taken shortly after Hurricane Katrina. I was in Waveland Miss. doing rehab/cleanup and one day while strolling along what previously was a street lining a beautiful gulf beach was at time time something more closely resembling a war zone.
Many people think it was New Orleans that got slammed by Katrina.
Not True. New Orleans only felt the edge rather than the full force of Katrina.
Waveland took it full in the face. They endured a 28 foot deep storm surge.
This photo was taken with a cell phone in front of what once was a beautiful 100+ year old mansion.
All that was left was a foundation, a toilet and that dolls head.
I grew up in L.A. and will take an earthquake any day of the week compared to what I saw in Mississippi.
