It does not cease to amaze me how some REO agents who are lucky enough to have landed an account with a top 4 financial institution take it so lightly. They have to constantly be reminded to complete their tasks, do the tasks properly, not to load documents upside down or sideways and practically have to be led by the hand. They have no clue how many agents are standing in line who don't mind doing a great job and are grateful for the opportunity to get assignments. Yet when they get bounced or don't get more assignments they want to complain and blame everyone else for their incompetence. What makes matters worse is that some of these agents have somehow endeared themselves to someone in management and they are hard to get rid of. Furthermore, some financial institutions have tied the AMs hands by only letting them choose from a preselected list of agents. One can only hope that change will come fast.

  • Please, don't black-list ready, willing and capable agents just because they work for a large brokerage. There are many of us willing to go above and beyond the call of duty. I work for the largest brokerage in Georgia, yes we have our own corporate REO division, but we as agents are allowed to go out and get our own REO clients. This gives the small town feel with the resources only available thru the large brokerages!

And Carlos, I do understand what you are trying to get across and I agree 100%. It's all about the service to the client!
    • Steve-In most cases the broker or agent in question is treated separately from the rest of the brokerage. It's well known that there will always be a few "bad apples" in the basket. However, it is unfortunate when the "bad apple" is the broker himself! Agents and brokers need to make sure they are hiring honest and ethical people.
  • Some AMs are starting to catch that some of the large REO broker's can't or don't service the assets. Many are seeking the smaller brokers or REO agents. Keep doing a good and you will get an opportunity!
  • Carlos,

More business is always good. Being that I'm a small office, I don't get opportunities like the mega agents. However, I know that my tasks are always done either early or on-time, never late. My BPO's are done logically and not by automation or hiring someone else to take pictures. I handle my listings personally, and always grateful for the business that is GIVEN to me.

If you know agents lacking in attention here in Contra Costa County, California area let me know...
  • Hey Carlos,
