Freddie Mac

Does anyone have any ideas on getting in with Freddie Mac? I have been trying for a couple of years to become an approved agent with no luck. I always get the same response "we are not looking for any agents in your area at this time, but you will get an email when we need more agents." Does anyone have any ideas?

        • Green River Capital, Atlas REO Services, and Vendor Resource Management (VRM)
          • Crystal do you happen to know the breakdowns on each AMP and states they cover for Freddie Mac?
            • VRM has the most business, up until March 1st they were the only Freddie Mac Asset Company. Then at the end of Feb. we got notice that the other two were being added. I am in South MS and I have assignments with all three AM's so I do not think they are assigning certain ones to certain states I think it must just be split percentage wise.
            • No idea.  Sorry!
  • Fannie/Freddie NEED to Spread their REOs out among Various Listing Agents!

Lately I have had clients make offers on Freddie Mac REOs with the local Freddie Mac REO listing companies. In Boise, as in many communities around the country, local brokerages have a virtual monopoly on listing properties for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

The overwhelming number of REOs dumped onto our market has completely overwhelmed these listing agents. Of course, some of these REO agents are really great. Others agents though.... Just try getting a response from them within a week or two! We have one offer in on a Freddie Mac property and have not had a response from the listing agent for over three weeks! Turns out they recently received approximately 50 new Freddie Mac REO listings. Seems to me that this will merely reduce their poor service and slow responsiveness to non-existent!

It stands to reason that if Fannie and Freddie really do want to liquidate their massive inventory, then they need to spread these listings out over many more agents so that no one individual is overwhelmed. If you have had similar frustrations please comment so we can raise awareness of this issue and help facilitate positive changes in this industry!
    • Furthermore-all of us taxpayers bailed fannie and freddie out-we own them.  How about some business?

  • Thank you for your input. I have beed signed up for Homesteps for quite some time and did hear that they are going to be doing away with that, but didn't know when. I will be doing what I can to get approved with Freddie as I am seeing a large amount of the foreclosures in my area are Freddie homes.
  • You have to sign up on HomeSteps for one and they only work with a couple of brokers/agents per area. I'm sure your area has already been locked down. There is a good article at www.thereoinsider.com, read "Unlocking the Gorillas Cage" on the right side. Here is a email I did get the other day stating Freddie Mac was doing away with HomeSteps on 2/1/2010 and starting a new program called HomeBase. There is a chance they make changes with new agents/brokers?
