JOINING MY LOCAL NATIONAL HISPANIC ASSOCIATION OF REAL ESTATE PROFESSIONALS IN PHOENIX, ARIZONA FOR $50

Yes, this is me looking to network with other real estate professionals in Phoenix real estate market. Also, I wanted to learn more this year about first time Hispanic home buyers and assisting Hispanic real estate investors. Did you know the number one need for Hispanic population in America is financial education? I meet many Hispanic real estate investors that make many mistakes during the process of a real Phoenix Fix and Flip Home. There is a huge opportunity to make a difference in this community when it comes to real estate investment training. Do you speak Spanish? No, I am willing to learn the language. My passion for real estate will attract real estate investors. I have learned that money does not discriminate.

So, I notified my local representative to join my local chapter of NAHREP. It only cost $50.00 to join for a one year membership. Plus, they have monthly activities to network with other professionals. Does this sound too good to be true or what? I am in for that price. Fellow NYer here-I know a true bargain when I see one. Look at the numbers below:

HISPANIC PURCHASING POWER source US Census

  • Hispanic Purchasing Power increased to over $865BB in 2007, and is anticipated reach over $1 Trillion by 2010, an increase of 457% since 1990
  • The growth rate for Hispanic Purchasing Power of 8.6% is the highest of all minorities, and is over 2.5 times greater than the 175% projected for whites
  • Hispanic incomes are growing the fastest in the $75,000 to $99,000 category
  • The Number of Hispanic households earning over $75K are increasing faster than the number of Hispanic households earning less than 75K
  • 50% of all U.S. Hispanic Households earn $50K or more
  • Affluent Hispanic buying power is estimated to be 2/3 of the entire U.S. Hispanic buying power
  • Homeownership equity accounts for 63% of Hispanic household wealth - the highest of any group. (Federal Reserve Board's Survey of Consumer Finances 2001)

I will continue to blog about my adventures over this coming year with NAHREP. I encourage everyone to join their local chapter today.

  • Bummer, on the Wedsnesday thing; too many events and too little time!

Great post Harry, you are correct for the price everyone who cares about our community needs to join.  The educational opportunities with NAHREP are really awesome, and we have the opportunity to get some great info from the national organization and bring this information to a more local level.  We need more quality local education for the Pros and homeowners in AZ.

also I think we should share the website, I did not see that yet on this post:

  • I believe they have an event on Wednesday.
  • NAHREP-AZ is also associated with HAREP in our local AZ area now.  I just joined NAHREP-AZ this year, it is a great new chapter.  Harry, are you doing the NAHREP Code of Trust ?  There is also an event locally in connection with our AREAA-AZ chapter locally also, that looks great too, if you go I will see you there!
  • Bubba

Thanks for an informative post when it comes to this subject. There is much to accomplish in this part of the real estate market. One of the reasons for me to join HAREP was to get better connected to offer my real estate investment knowledge.

  • Harry,

I am on the Board of Dirctors for NAHREP-Vista (San Diego County) and have been envolved with NAHREP or many of years. The power that this organization brings to the local communities is remarkable. Now only are you networking with local agents, but NAHREP is a platform to assist the community. The Hispanic community is the most uneducated community in the USA.

On the 22nd of this month, I will be certified to teach the Freddie Mac's CreditSmart class.

CreditSmart and CreditSmart Español features 12 complete financial education modules:

    1. Your Credit and Why It Is Important
    2. Managing Your Money
    3. Goal Setting
    4. Banking Services: An Important Step
    5. Establishing and Maintaining Credit
    6. Understanding Credit Scoring
    7. Thinking Like a Lender
    8. Avoiding Credit Traps
    9. Restoring Your Credit
    10. Planning For Your Future
    11. Becoming a Homeowner
    12. Preserving Homeownership: Protecting Your Home Investment

There is no charge to the consumers and I will be holding seminars in a majority of my clients cities. I do not make any money doing these classes and I will never charge a consumer to take the class. I am donating my time to teach the consumers their rights and to give them the tools that they need to succeed in life. This class is available in 5 languages, I do not speak all 5 languages, but I do have the handouts in each language.

Everyone needs to take a step back and look at the big picture: Our Communites are suffering and it is our jobs to help them Stabilize!

Like you I am not hispanic, but I am also on the AREAA and WinDS board. So I am involved with
Women, Hispanic and Asian community stabilazation.

Thank you for your support of NAHREP, keep up the good work.
