I can't stress enough, it's the after parties that a lot of connections take place so, be sure you are attending these, they are important. Also, do what you can to get into the VIP sections.
It was great to meet you at the Club Tsunami event on Monday night.
I agree with your assessment of the conference and networking events. I made some really good connections in each venue. But I had to push myself out of the "comfort zone" and go meet & greet "strangers." (we all remenber what our mommies said about strangers . . . yikes!). But it was an amazingly positive experience. If I had stayed in the "comfort zone" I might as well have stayed home.
Now I'm trying to figure out if I can get caught-up and ahead enough to hit REOMAC next month too. It's all expensive, but it is a clear investment in business.
Have I become addicted to networking? ee-gads!
Best of good fortune,
Clay
I was also apprehensive about the 5 Star Conference. I received an invite to attend a sesssion with one of my lenders and decided it would be a mistake to miss out.
I attended only one day - quick trip in & out of town. The facility was nice and accomodated a large crowd. I was disappointed in the amount of vendors in the Expo Hall. I attended the day with the Lender Open House. Some rooms were too small to accomodate the crowds. This is a very popular event. More lender participation would be good.
I didn't stay long enough to attend the parties. So I missed out on the extra networking opportunities.
Talking with other agents who have attended the conferences over the last few years, the feedback was positive and they enjoyed this conference more than the others.
I would say, overall a good event. I will spend more time at the next one.
Ok ok, I'll start saving up now for next year. Sounds like I missed a great event. I so wanted to be there but the tooth ferry was mean to me this year!
None the less, it's the after parties and private invites that really make these things successful.
We had such a great time at 5 star. You're right about networking, we believe we missed about 1/3 of the conference(counting the after parties)
Looking forward to your next word....Thank you.
