Ok, so, I got to thinking, what if we (REOPro) created our own designation? Sounds great and all however, I want it to be the kind of designation that makes a difference. When people say they are a REOPro, I really want it to stand for something. With as much experience as we have on this site, maybe we can do it. Of course, right now, it’s just a pipe dream however, I am no Amy Winehouse, my pipe dreams come true…...occasionally. So, what ya think, could we do something like that? Would you be willing to help and add content or material? Better yet, do you have a contact that would be willing to sponsor a training program and in return, use our members, who have passed training as their dedicated REOPro Agents? Before any of you start biting at the bit…..bear with me here. Take a deep breathe, wait 10 seconds, then exhale…….this is just a thought at the moment. I am taking the temperature of our membership to see if this would even be a possibility. Obviously, it gives you a big clue as to where I want this whole “Social Network” to go but, baby steps first. In other words, share your thoughts with me, let me know what you think, I would greatly appreciate it.

  • I think we that handle REOs are a special breed...a completely different type of agent. Real Estate is demanding, REO can be brutal and while it is rewarding, it is also costly. I think a designation is not only warranted but would of benefit to every side, and I would certainly be glad to help where I can. If enough of us were able to gain some feedback from just one of our AM's and then structure instruction as to how to bridge the gap between what they want and need and what we are giving them, we would have better success and help them have better success, thereby perfecting our craft, and isn't that what designation is all about?. It's a win win situation for everyone. I hope you take a few more steps toward this project Jesse. Meanwhile, I would love to see more sharing of experiences in this forum....something like a 'DAY IN THE LIFE...' page where members simply logged the events of their day once or twice, which would not only make interesting reading but also share experience.
  • I joined this group because I though not only would I benefit from those with REO experience but I also have a lot of knowledge to share. I think developing a designation that requires more than just a few training courses would be a real assest. In many or the designations there are a number training seminars that are required but also transactions closed. I think working in that direction does give you knowledge but also experience and isn't that what your looking for in someone that has a designation?

I am not a new comer to real estate I have been in business for 28 years but....It has been a long time since I worked an REO. I am looking forward to working this business again but I am no way an expert at this time. I am a beginner just like many. I believe this site is an excellant source of information and am looking forward to watching it grow. I might stay in the background now and again but am willing to step forward when needed.

  • Jessie: I think that this idea of your definitely has merit. Perhaps we should put together a team to look into the development of a program like this. Marvin
